13 June (Sat) evening: Free guided walk at Chek Jawa Boardwalk

Update:
We are full! Registration is suspended for the moment until we can get more volunteer guides. Thank you for your understanding.

Registration for the nature walk on 13th June (Saturday) is now open! Join us as we uncover a different side of Chek Jawa during this upcoming Special Ubin Day Walk.

As our guided walks for Chek Jawa are usually in the morning, this coming walk will be a special one as visitors will get a chance to see the evening side of Chek Jawa! Who knows what we will discover and encounter!

We have been doing FREE nature trips to Chek Jawa Boardwalk for close to 8 years now. Each month, we bring small groups of visitors out on to introduce them to the plant and animals found in the mangroves and intertidal areas of Chek Jawa. All from the safety and convenience of the boardwalk. There is always plenty to see on these trips, such as wild boars, insects, lots and lots of crabs, spiders, snakes, fishes, perhaps a jellyfish or two in the sea, and not forgetting the birds in the forests and flying high above us. Who says there is no nature in Singapore! Come explore Chek Jawa with the Crabs!

FAQS

Q: Suitable attire?

A: Comfortable outdoor clothes and walking shoes

Q: What should I bring?

A: Drinking water (important), rain gear, hat/baseball cap. Optional: change of attire, camera, binoculars.

Q: Age restriction?

A: None as long as the participants are prepared to walk 2 km, climb a 6-storey high tower, able to tolerate the hot sun or wet weather, and be responsible for their own well-being during the walk.

Q: How do I recognise the guides?

A: Look out for our placard with a Naked Hermit Crab on it (as seen below)! We will be the ones doing a roll-call at Chek Jawa Information Kiosk. As long as you make it to Chek Jawa, you will definitely see us.
Look out for our sign!

Q: What if it rains?

A: This is a rain-or-shine event. The Crabs will be there at Chek Jawa regardless of the weather. Usually we are able to resume the walk once the rain stops. Please come prepared with rainwear. You make your own decision whether to come or not in the event of bad weather.
